My daughter is attending classes here and it was so annoying that two days a week I waited for her in the car for only 1 hour that lasted the only class she had on those days and I had to pay the parking (yes, once the parking police was about to put a ticket on my windshield because they couldn't see me behind the paying station, I'm way to short, but as soon as I walked towards my car I yelled at them waving the ticket in my hand so they just apologized and got into their golf cart) another thing I don't understand is why the collage FORCE students to pay for Public Transportation (bus) even if they are being dropped by they parents or uber, yes other colleges like SacState give it for free but ONLY to students requesting it because it will be their only way of transportation (my oldest son had to use it since his class schedule didn't allowed me to drive him there). Aside from those 2 things, my daughter loves her classes & teachers and has attended events that she also enjoyed a lot.
EDIT TO ADD: I had such a bad experience with ARC that I called other colleges. FLC (Folsom lake college) has been the best experience and they are apart of the los Rios district. I’d recommend going with them if you’re looking to join one of the los Rios colleges. They approved me and I had my student within an hour. The next day I was able to speak to everyone I needed to, and with lots of help from their staff via phone I was enrolled in all my classes within 24 hours of applying. Everyone was extremely friendly and offered so much assistance to me, it blew my mind how different these colleges are for being in the same district.
I called their admissions office for some questions about applying online, they transferred me to the counselors to see if the classes I wanted to apply for were open. The woman who answered told me in a very rude tone that if I don’t call right at 8AM there’s no way I’ll get any assistance because they’re “crazy busy”. The hours of operation are 8AM to 7PM, I’m completely appalled they can’t help students during all hours of operation.
Guess I’ll be looking for another college to attend
Amazing customer service. I’ll be here second time. I had the ESL test. Before, during and after test the Personal had answers for all my stupid questions )) I’m very appreciate for all those People to help me today. Very friendly and nice People. Very good Professionals. Thank You again for help. :-)
First thing first before you even consider this for your college make sure to accept that every day 15-25 min of your time will be wasted finding a parking spot. Even if you have a parking permit, almost 80% of the parking spots especially those close to offices and classes are marked for Spoiled brats, called Staff. I wouldn't trust an institution when they prioritize their staff to their customers.
Imelda Farias proved to be the most disappointing counselor I've ever encountered. Her lack of professionalism and inability to comprehend my situation were evident. Despite showing her my outside transcripts on my computer, she remained indifferent. She even entered someone else's ID number, inaccurately stating my major as computer science instead of human development. Enrolling at American River College has been a regrettable mistake, with a general lack of competence and courtesy from staff, including being yelled at in the library and encountering judgment for having my child on campus and in the food pantry.
Their more worried about a $50 charge than processing important appeals/ teacher complaints, calfresh etc...Worst college to attend once entering second year. They only make themselves look good for first year attendees.
Excellent place for Monster Hunter Now! Definitely recommended, three biomes with Mass resource spawn in campus.
$2 parking all day tho.
I personally went to Solano college I had no issues with the people who were supportive They helped me through every step I went there today they tell you to get up there by 6:30 a.m. so you can get in with a counselor which is kind of ridiculous are there so disorganized and so not on top of their game . Pretty sad trying to do this on their own but we'll find out tomorrow tell you to do this and do that to do this and it sounds ridiculous and then having you walk all over the damn place . People don't want to do their job. My son has a bad experience there I'll be worth driving on the way to Solano ! I am reading all these bad experiences 😔 I'm now from 5 years ago come on even yolo county I did a semester there.
